On May 12th, our Chief Executive Officer, Helen
Walsh, and Campaigner, Mena Houghton, was given the amazing opportunity to meet
Prince William. Together with a few others people from all walks of life came
together to talk about their experiences being LGBT+ growing up. Many spoke of
experiences with bullying and prejudice. “It’s been a huge eyeopener for me,
just hearing all your stories… Nobody should have to go through what you’ve all
been through.” Through groups like Space Youth Project young people throughout
Dorset can find the support needed to help them grow as individuals. “…support
that some people round this table might not have had.”

Donation at Poole Group
Last
week Space was visited by members of the MSC Bournemouth. After thirty
years of meeting, the organisation was discontinued in December 2015,
and kindly donated the balance of its accounts to Space Youth Project,
presenting us with a donation of roughly £120. Below is a picture of MSC
members Dave, John and Mike, joined by Space members Steve, Jason,
Jesse and CEO Helen Walsh
